Last day Wednesday 6th November

Last day before we head home tomorrow. Hopefully to nice weather. We have some Aussie channels on the TV now and have caught up with all the news back home. We have had a good time. Peter is still not 100% but getting there. There are some good shops on board, Coach, some type of high end watches, cosmetics, grog etc. I go in every day and try on all the products but unfortunately do not look 10 years younger, more like I've been holed up on pirate ship for 14 days (just kidding). We have had great dinner companions which has been a bonus although we all eat too much. We are catching the 1200 Virgin flight tomorrow so hopefully home by 4ish. And guess what? Back to work tomorrow night!. Probably not my brightest idea. The weather is a bit cool today and we are just about to head up for afternoon tea which we prefer to lunch as we don't have dinner until 8.15pm. Call or see you when we get back.

Brisbane 5th November

Day in Brisbane today. Took a bus trip around Brisbane which was very good. We must do the same thing in Melbourne as I think we know more about Brisbane than Melbourne now. Weather is cloudy and about 25 c. A lot of Melbourne cup celebrations going on up her today as well although business as usual. Some great horse ice sculptures. One more day at sea then Sydney and home.

Days at sea 2nd November

Guess what, more sea days. We are sitting at the ice rink waiting for the ice show to start. Still very calm seas and we are cruising in sight of land after rounding the top of QLD and continuing down the coast on route to Brisbane arriving on Cup day. Our days have been occupied with eating, drinking, trivia, swimming, eating, walking, talking. Peter has been going each day to financial lectures. We won a quiz and now have 300 RCI luggage tags. Lots of entertainment on board, great shows, and events along the Promenade deck. Halloween was fun but low key as mostly Aussies on board, a lot of people dressed up and the crew. Weather remains hot and a mix of sun/cloud. Lots of people working on their tans around the pool. We prefer the undercover area which also has more comfortable cushioned beach chairs. Our cabin is located a few doors for the Promenade cafe which is handy for a drink or snack 24 hours a day. Trivia question for today, what does an octopus do if it is in danger?. Shows about to start. I will send this later with a few photos from last nights formal night.

Darwin 31st October

Happy Halloween. Back on home soil and very hot it is. 34 c this morning and sunny. We walked to town and then after a browse at the shops took the Hop on Hop off bus all around Darwin. The museum was one of the best we have seen. A lot of Military and Cyclone Tracy exhibits. They even had a room you could go into to hear what the noise was like during the Cyclone. Lots of new residential developments being built. We have another 4 days at sea before Brisbane. Halloween party tonight

Days at sea

Last 2 days at sea. Finding our way about the ship, found the mini golf, rock climbing wall, Jonny Rockets, roller blading track and tennis/basketball court. The weather has been hot with a bit of rain about but very smooth seas. Our cabin is at the front of the ship and no movement at all. Finding the buffet a bit of a challenge so we are eating all meals in the dining room when possible. Lots of live entertainment around the ship and last night Captains welcome drinks and speeches and have just been to the Crown and Anchor party. Lots of free drinks which goes down well with the over 3,000 Aussies on board. Always someone to talk to and have a drink, coffee or meal with. Huge gym on board and spa area. We did well in the progressive quiz which goes over 3 days, but have not been to as many trivia as usual. Peter is feeling better but still has a cough and gets tired easy. Formal evening last night as well and there was tuxedos, kilts and lots of long gowns. One more day at sea and then Darwin.

Voyager of the Seas 24th October

Arrived at the new Marina Bay cruise Centre approx 1pm. Looked very chaotic as the Diamond Princess is also in port. On board within 30 minutes and headed for the usual Windjammer for a snack until cabins ready. Quick call into the library to grab a book before all the good ones are gone, and a stroll down the promenade deck where all the shops and cafes etc are. Cabin is nice and a short walk to the cafe. Tea and coffee also provided in cabin. Very hot here today and humid but cool onboard the ship. Peter is still not feeling great but improving on antibiotics. Hopefully he will be ok when we get to Kuala Lumpur. The ship has not yet been upgraded which is good as they still have a nice big library area. All the upgraded ships have the library turned into a restaurant and books on shelves in the walkway. There is also lots of pool areas and outdoor areas. We are waiting for our bags to arrive so we can unpack and trivia at 5pm which Peter likes to go to.
25th October. Another day at port in Singapore. Very hot and humid. Started with the buffet breaky as we were up too late for the dining room. Will stay aboard today as Peter is still unwell. Went to the dining room last night and we are at a good table. Unfortunately we could only get 8.15pm sitting which is a bit late. Tomorrow we are in Kuala Lumpur and have booked a ship tour for the whole day. Our cruise director is Luke and he was on the Rhapsody when we went to Hawaii, he is very good. Trivia question for today. How many stars on the Australian flag?

Day in Kuala Lumpur==We had a great day in Kuala Lumpur. Took a ship tour around all the sights and ended up at the Petronis Towers which are the tallest twin towers in the world, there is also a massive shopping centre there selling all the top brands. We had 3 hours there but did not buy anything, more Kate's style of shopping. Also had fun browsing the supermarkets. 4 days at sea now and lots of activities. Peter is slowly feeling better. We are now having all our meals in the dining room which we prefer to the buffet as a bit crowded. Met some great people and a few that we have cruised with before. Answer to the last trivia 1 is 6 stars on the Australian flag Love S

Singapore

Not a great day yesterday, the only sightseeing we did was of the Singapore hospital which is just down the road. Spent a few hours there as Peter was not getting any better. New course of Antibiotics and cough mixture and he had a bit better sleep last night. We head down to the new cruise terminal later today to board the Voyager of the Seas. Overnight in Singapore and hopefully we can get out and about on Friday. We really wanted to go to the Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Hotel.
